A course developed by InterPress IH Teacher Training Centre to meet the growing need of teachers to gain a validated type of professional qualification in TESOL.

STUDY MODE: online distance learning via Moodle and Zoom study platforms

About the course:

This course is designed to provide candidates with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the format of the exam: the tasks which are included and the strategies which should be used in order to achieve a positive result. The course aids in developing candidates� knowledge of main theories of first and second language acquisition and increasing their awareness of approaches and methodologies used in ELT. In addition, one of the aims of the course is to broaden candidates� knowledge of language systems and skills as well as learners� problems in developing language and skills proficiency. Finally, it helps candidates to evaluate teaching and reference materials and resources and to extend candidates� knowledge of the role and methods of assessment.

There is an optional weekly exam practice task with individual feedback to maximize the trainees exposure to the range of tasks. Also, there are are weekly collaborative projects helping the trainees research the target areas.

At the end of the course, candidates will take a mock test and will obtain a detailed feedback (their strengths and areas to work on) and recommendations to be considered.

Candidates will be provided with all the necessary materials and more exam papers to practice.


Flexible: InterPress IH DELTA M1 Prep Course is delivered in a fully online mode enabling you to complete the course from anywhere in the world.

Manageable: the programme runs for 10 weeks, making it perfect for balancing your studies with your other responsibilities, although it is important that every week you spend the min of 15 hours doing 6 written tasks on the Moodle platform.

Practical: the course includes live online sessions with a tutor: 2 hours each week and 20 written assignments, each provided with the tutor�s feedback.

Reflective: the course helps you to develop reflective practice based on your current teaching and through every week�s Reading and Moodle Discussions.

Minimum Entry Requirements:

  • Have at least 2 years full time experience of teaching English to a variety of levels and contexts
  • Be a graduate and have an initial teaching qualification (i.e. CELTA, Trinity Cert TESOL or equivalent)
  • Have language proficiency at C1+
